The high-protein diet was long gone and the pregnancy hormones were wearing off. Hair was shedding fast. Besides, it's coming into full summer in DC, with the humidity settling in hot and oppressive, and who wants to spend all day under the blow dryer? So on a quiet, humdrum day, Neely strolled out to the local salon to find a coiffure altogether new—and much, much shorter. We're posting photos just for the adoring fans (i.e., parents and sisters). ;)
And now a brief public service announcement: if you, too, are getting a drastic haircut in the future, consider donating your clippings to Locks of Love. They make wigs for cancer patients, and if you have a pony tail at least ten inches long, they can use your hair. You might even get a discounted (or free!) cut. Be sure to ask ahead of time.
Incidentally, Doug also got a haircut this week. Nobody cares.
