Attended Wilmington Academy and Moore's Hill College, a Methodist preachers college (now University of Evansville). Taught school at 17 and worked in drug store. Married May Ida on 8/30/82. Went to Ohio Medical College in Cincinatti and soon afterward moved to Indianapolis to practice medicine. In 1902 moved Aurora to continue his practice until his death (from pneumonia). Graduated Med school in 1888. Elizabeth Haynes Kelley has wedding ring he gave May Ida. It came from her grandmother Sallie Louise Haynes.
