A lesson in March weather: A week before it had been 70°. The day before it had been snowing/sleeting. But on this particular Saturday the sun was out, even if it was cold, and so we (with our old backpacking buddy Will) pressed ahead with our backpacking plans. Up on the ridge at Three Top Mountain, we found a lot more snow, as a person might expect. But we didn't expect all the ice, which slowed our walking and made building a fire totally impossible. In the end, we called it a day hike and headed back to the car.
Still, we had a fine time being outdoors awhile, and the scenery was beautiful. Check it out.
